and one more thing costume oriented. ;p the disney trip, on my b-day I plan on having breakfest in cinderellas castel, dinner at artist point and there is a new Pirate Princess party that I will go to. now, I can dress up. so, should I make the plum dress, and be a pirate princess, make one of the white witches dresses and be a "queen" (a recognizable one) or wear my SM or victory dress depening on if I get the neckline worked on the VD. votenow, but I only have enough to make one.

you can see I got the worst place to take pics of the witch, shes in the corner (left side of pic) and its very dark, plus the lights are down, her crown has lights in it, i tried to get pics of that but she left before I caould... and here are the pics of the light on her, I'm gonna try to clean this up a tad....

as you can see i love this costume! the dress I could see no seams on it at all. but it looks like it has at least 3 layers of fabric on it! the first layer tight fitting white dress, something texured, think kimono texure mixed with dupioni, also verycrisp and with a sheen that only silk has. the dress itself is very thick (2" from body at the top with the lip, stands about 1/2-1" up from cleavage) then (no sleeves at all) there is a netting, like tule (I think, I didn't have much time and NO NOTES IN BUILDING) white, then some sort of guze on it, like spider web stuff you can get for halloween, like batting, only pulled very thin, holes in some places, like cob webs, (this is where you can see the texured stuff) and balled in other places. really like old quilt batting. then white and silver threads (the white lines on the dress) running on top of that, like the threads of dupioni when it ravels, only lightly crimped (you know that parts on dupioni that are "tinner" then the rest with no slubs? yeah, like that) sorry my knowledge of fabric is very limited so I liken things to fabric I know, even if it isn't correct. keep this in mind) then on top of that there is the "web" of silk or poly thread (I say this b/c it has a sheen, like the rose underdress emb..) chain stitched onto all of that, (tule, batting, threads) and that "floats" over the white under dress it is only attached at the neckline of the dress and possibly the back. now, in between SOME (yes very random, I'll see if I can "point" some out to you, the webbing was very randome in design so I'm thinging, it's like the chase "lace" and sewn, perhaps the organza is as much for integraty as for design?) of the webbing of the chain stitch there are pieces of grey/silver/black organza sewn on top of the chain webbing with white thread, and its more like basting stitch, they did not try to hide it or blend it in. also in some places I should mention that the webbing did seem to "float" over the other stuff (inc the batting etc). the fabric apperntly is heavy but light if you know what i mean. it rolled instead of draped like silk velvet (more like dupioni in rolls) the dress puddled about 4-6". I tried to take the best pics i could, but I was watched like a mouse to a hawk there. now, what really drew m to this dress was the long cape, of the same organza taht is in the webbing on the dress, perhaps a tad more on the dark side, almost black (the lighting was very good in the costumes places before they turned out the lights) but not quite. perhaps shot black/silver? but definatly organza. very long, non too wide though taht I could see. perhaps from selvege to selveage? but not sure since i couldn't see the back. and it was in a skewed triangel shape, and attached on her shoulder under the raven (clasp)the head of the bird was twisted tward her back but was on her shoulder blade tword the front(almost on her clavacle, you can see in the pics) its eyes were crystals, (I want to say amber, but I don't remember) and I remember it being shiney, but I don't remember where exactly sorry) now, its right wing (by her head) was lifted up and outstretched, up and back. and a art of the bird was across her back and you could see it at her waist on the oppisite side. (its left wing?)

as for the shape of the dress... it is very much a hour glass dress, the top is like a v under the arms it goes down and in back and front it goes up about4" from bust point (the under arms looks liek the same level as reg sleeves..)and from the waist down it flares out drasticly. (you can best see what i mean in the blurry pic of her skirt. and you can best see the bird in the picsof her side and the wig.) you can see the webbing in the pic of the bodice.... actually looking at my notes, it looks like I thought I saw a faint line (seam) for a very small p-seam on the side. like the side seam is very front, (kinda like the cranberry dress is very tword the back) but that is unconfermend. but a very full skirt, (55" x's 3 panels? no waist seams!!!!!) enjoy! sorry not a better observer or pic taker! [erhaps a little more but have to go to bed so sleepy!
