okay well after a night I decided i love my fabric the way it is (thanks guys!) and I've been diging through my pattern box to find pieces that I can "frankenpattern" into my victory jacket and under dress (thought I don't think that will work and I'll have to stop being lazy and draft one myself) but at the moment I have no idea how to even start on the under dress, but I guess I'll figure it out soon, then I can start on the *drum roll* you guessed it more emb! and beading, luckly the beading will be like 35 beads in a pattern not over a thousand beads, so that will be a nice switch, but I should order the under dress fabric, dye, cording, and beads, and I still have to talk Mom into going to wal-mart to buy needles, thread, muslin, and possibly gold paint. but not sure on the last bit. all in all i don't think I can start on the victory dress till I get back from Disney (budget will be removed a bit) let alone TN, but till then I might be able to make the mocks of the victory dress and possibly the br dress which should be relitivly simple, (just use the dress/body of my hope dress with some modifications) drat! I just remembered I have to get some zippers too! (I hate sewing zippers on!) or perhaps I'll just get hooks and eyes that has been working good for me and snaps, along with buttons, (this is how much I hate zippers!) but perhaps it will be too hard to hook myself into a jacket with the hooks on the back, *sigh* I guess I'll have to learn to like zippers.

on the other hand I've now finshed about 1 1/4 of a cluster, I got too hungry to finish, but I'll have plenty of time in TN, but unfortunatly we're only staying till Monday and leaving that day b/c we all have to work on tuesday, so I won't get as much as I'de like done there. c'est la vie. well I'm off the study how the heck I can do the under dress and eat, then work!

I've decided for my future ref I'll post it here where I'll be able to find it again.

syfabric.com silk velvet (I don't know if it matters but it was burgundy) shrunk exactly 5" per yard in cold wash (delecate cycle) and med-delecate dry (length wise)

thai silks tapesry "brocade" shrunk 4" per yard lenght wise in warm wash cold rinse in gentale cycle and delecate dry for 90 mins.

dharma trading silk crinkle georgette with hot dye bath with soda ash and cold wash and med dry I didn't notice much shrinking, but i didn't test first or measure so I don't know.

silk esscense did not shrink

hand wash air dry silk dupioni 4" per yard

stretch velvet didn't shrink

habotai (dharma) 5mm warm wash warm rinse med dry didn't shrink, got sorfter.

thai silks rose matelasse warm wash warm rinse med dry 6" per yard (or 1/2" per 3")

denver fabrics dupioni warm wash warm rinse med dry not shinkinf width lenght 1" per 3" so about1' per yard.

diagonal double weave habotai shrunk h 25% and L 125%

and I think I'll add to this with every new fabric I use. hope I'll remember this... ;)
